It took me quite a while to get this working, so much so that I think it's useful for others. I focused on creating a starter repo on it before starting my own work. So, just making the docs update below.

It basically integrates the community i18n plugin with using-contentful repo. i.e. - uses the en-US and de content from Using Contenful example and displays either of the content depending on lang selected using the lang selector.

I also have a i18n with transformer remark plugin, but that's perhaps better in the i18n plugin repo itself rather than here. Not sure though, if you want here, I can clean it up w.r.t naming, code comments, repo name, live demo on netlify, etc. https://github.com/mccrodp/gatsby-transformer-remark-i18n

Thanks @mccrodp, this looks good!

It'd be great to have your i18n with transformer remark plugin either in the i18n plugin repo, or here as another PR. Which do you think folks will find most useful?

Thanks a lot for your work @KyleAMathews and @m-allanson.

@m-allanson, I think the Contentful is more useful, but just for my use case, perhaps. The TransformRemark could be super useful, for my use case I would have used if custom filename prefix was possible in Netlify CMS. As an aside, I added an issue here in Netlify CMS for that: decaporg/decap-cms#1114

For deciding a home for the MarkdownRemark starter, it's not there yet, and I'm not the best to answer, so I created an issue over in i18n repo to ask angeloocana/gatsby-plugin-i18n#34
