Part of Epic #66

Problem

To recruit users for UxR studies, it's a bit of a drag not having any concrete & agreed-to profiles of users the team has targeted SecureDrop in service to. Would also be lovely to have some defined user profiles to connect GH tickets to, from both Issues in the SD Repo and the SD-UX Repo.

Solution

Gotta start somewhere; let's get something simple started, and in a near-term follow-up UX meeting present to the team to iterate on and prioritize from. Expected deliverable(s) will be nothing fancy—no pictures or graphics. Goal, to get some structural things defined that everyone can point to and say "Yes, that's it!"

Tentatively, users identified as...

  • Sources
    • 3-4 profiles, covering information domains, risk factors, demographics, and other motivation/need bits
  • Newsroom Folks
    • NGOs inclusive, within this—but we gotta call this group something simple/memorable, so Newsroom it will be, until a better word comes up.
    • Journalists
      • 3-4 profiles, covering proper news orgs, indie/guerilla news orgs, freelance journalists, and watchdog NGO peeps
    • Admins
      • —TBD—
    • Installers
      • —TBD—
