We're working towards nightly builds of the securedrop-client and securedrop-proxy packages (freedomofpress/securedrop-builder#8). Each nightly build will have a unique version string. This repository will need to provide a script to update the version string.

To ensure consistency, the discussion of implementation details should be centralized in freedomofpress/securedrop-client#407. Once we have a reference implementation in the client repository, we can provide it in this repository as well.
