Choosing existing items from a collection not working for me

Hi,

Thank you for this excellent extension.

When attempting to add a M2A item within the editor I am only allowed to add a new item to the associated collection and cannot select an existing item:

flexible-editor-add-item.mp4

I am wondering, did I hit a bump in my setup or is this the expected behavior?

I have searched and can't seem to find the answer to this but I do apologize if I have missed it. Happy to provide further setup details if necessary...
