What's the Problem?

After a file is deleted, it still appears in the folder, unless you hit F5.

Solution/Idea

Just refresh the folder.

Alternatives

Manually refresh by hitting F5

Hello @bobworm , are you trying on a local folder or on a network folder / mtp device?

Sorry, I forgot to mention, it's happening when I am trying to delete or move a file on another machine connected with Remote desktop. I have just encountered another problem, I used the experimental option to set your application as default. When I tried to set it off it switches back to default immediately :-( Thanks for you help and for that interesting alternative to the ugly file explorer of windows 11. Hello @bobworm , thanks for confirming. For the first issue, it's a known issue, merging with #5869

About the second issue: you have to follow the instructions here to unset as default file explorer:

https://files.community/docs/configuring/replace-file-explorer

TL;DR: download this zip and run UnsetFilesAsDefault.reg to restore windows explorer
