Summary

What we're after:
OGC wants to keep the E&J appendix. To get it off transition we need to migrate it. It's a lot of pages and they would be a lot more useful if they linked to E&Js.

Background

When we migrated the E&Js to the website, we didn’t migrate the E&J appendix as it wasn’t widely used and actually consists of many pages. It is a holdover from the 1980s and 1990s paper version where it was a way to help paper edition users make the leap from an old cite to a new cite when a regulation is kept intact but renumbered

It still lives on transition at https://transition.fec.gov/law/cfr/ej_conversion_appendix.shtml and it is linked in our E&J landing page on FEC.gov so the public can access it. If we ever had to update it again, it would be a hassle as only one or two people have access to editing things that are on transition now.

We have a path forward but work will be needed to make these pages useful. The codes and links have been added to the spreadsheet for E&J table data.

Implementation ticket at #5426
