Design options for placement of links to guidance search #3670
Comments
Possible places to link to the guidance documents search:
|
@patphongs @AmyKort After talking with @dorothyyeager, we came up with following places and methods to link to the guidance documents search. Let me know if you have any objections or concerns. Legal resources top-level navigation: Any language changes? Policy and guidance transition page: https://transition.fec.gov/law/policy.shtml H4CC "You might also like": https://www.fec.gov/help-candidates-and-committees/ Any language changes? |
@patphongs @AmyKort, @dorothyyeager and I also discussed not including the Legal resources landing page as part of this work at this time. Any change to that page could be longer term as that would take much more thought design-wise and more development work. Since we'd like to get this out sooner rather than later, we can include Legal resources landing page work for our next iteration. Let me know if/why you object. |
Mockups have been shared with OGC, waiting for comments. In the meantime, moving to blocked. |
Final page changes: Policy and other guidance page: https://transition.fec.gov/law/policy.shtml H4CC You might also like: https://www.fec.gov/help-candidates-and-committees/ |
From OGC conversation: We're going to leave the Guidance documents section and change the header to Press release. The area that's crossed out in the above screenshot will remain. |
Closing in favor of this PR: #3702 |
Summary
What we are after:
We need to decide where and how to link the new guidance search page.

Background
OGC indicated they'd like a link on https://www.fec.gov/help-candidates-and-committees/ in the legal resources part of "You might also like":
There might be other good places to place the link, such as the Legal Resources drop down menu for example.
Completion criteria
Future work
Implementation ticket for the link requested by OGC, plus a link added to old Policy page at https://transition.fec.gov/law/policy.shtml.
