"Import Geometry" button greyed out on mac / .stl upload issues

I cannot upload my .stl file nor my .cdb file because my import geometry tab is greyed out. I have redownloaded the application twice with no success. Also, when I attempt to upload my .stl file I am told "first line must be solid definition."

These functions worked fine when I was using a PC, but I am using a mac now and I am having issues. Would love some help if anyone knows how to fix these issues. Thanks!
