Plot: Giving Points Hover Priority Over Lines

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I have a mathematical graphing software I'm working on, and I use points to display roots (intersections with the x-axis) and extrema (local minimums and maximums). But hovering over the points, since they're over a Line, don't select the point since a line is also located there.

Describe the solution you'd like
A way to give elements on a plot priority over each other so that Points can be hovered over even if they're onto of another object.
