[Canvas] Using canvas with no data installed throws an error when switching to a data source #44135

To Repo:

  1. Boot up kibana and navigate directly to Canvas without installing any sample data.
  2. Add a data table to a workpad.
  3. Click "Data" tab, see Couldn't fetch default index error

3. Click change data source (since above error doesn't seem to cause immediate problems) 4. Click Elasticsearch raw documents, and see new error:
