I am using a index name other than "kibana-int" for dashboard settings, however despite changing it in the config.js and a few other places just to make sure the setting seems to always revert to "kibana-int". I currently change the value each time I have to reload kibana.

I agree this is not obvious. You also need to change it in the edit panel of the dash config panel. Will think about this one
