managedashboard

A lot of space is lost and we have to jump on several pages even if we have a lot of space available.
Is it possible to list the dashbord / search or visualize in several colomns.
The dashboard filter is a nice having, but does not really help if you do not remember the name of a dashboard

@TiNico22 what resolution screen are you on? Just curious as it may be something that would need an additional break point / media query to take advantage of the increased size.

I like the idea of generating columns on very wide screens.

Yes, something like several columns when you have width. You cn have the screen resolution with JavaScript, so you can choose the number of colums depending of the screen resolution.

Media queries would be better for accomplishing that. I was curious what screen resolution you used cause I wanted to know how far above 1200 wide you were which is bootstrap 3's default large width. =

I like the original submitter's suggestion here: #1580

Would be a nice way to use some of the space, the question would be: Would we then need two paginators? Seems messy.

As I said in the reply of #1580, I think those 2 issues may have a common idea to optimize screen rendering. Since Kibana 4 as options to save search, visualize and dashboard, I am pretty sure that lot of users will have more than 5 favorites search and dashboard.
In this case, we need both idea to optimize user experience (less click to find a search/visualize/dashboard).
It could be interesting to make a pool on "how many dashboard do you have in Kibana 3 ?"

Closing.

The dashboard add panel has been updated to use a flyout and no longer spans the entire screen.
