Access to "Listening" activity type for RPC. #4690

There are many music players that have Discord rich presence support, but they're all forced to use "Playing" instead of "Listening". Allowing this should be a simple change clientside, allowing the client to accept type 2 ActivityTypes, and enabling the time bar for the "Listening" activity type instead of only for Spotify. |

Hello, eSound developers here (https://esound.app/). We kindly ask Discord for the possibility of having access to the same APIs Spotify is leveraging for the Discord Rich presence and other features so that we can satisfy our user's request of having the same features which Spotify currently has and we cannot due to a special treatment for Spotify only. In particular for the Rich Presence and other features we want to build something identical on what only Spotify currently has. Is there any way to do this? Thank you! |

This has been silently added, but very few if any RPC libraries (and especially not the official one that's deprecated anyways) support manually setting the type. |

I really need this. And i don't understand why this is not changed yet. It just another condition that checks if activity has both start and end timestamps |

Just checked it still forces type to PLAYING if RPC.TransportType is not POST_MESSAGE. Imo it's absolute nonsense... |

The most absolute nonsense decicion. Also, they already have an JOI to check the activity type should either 0, 2, 3. then it force back to 0? I really want my app to show the correct activity, but with this restriction, I have no choice but to connect directly to discord wss and update it there directly. Yet I havent implement it as it require user to give their authorization code, which open so much flaw in user security. |

This is now removed, on Canary only for now at the time of writing. Still no time bar, but it's better than not having the ability to change the type entirely. |

There's no pause feature. Just remove timestamps while track is paused |
