Why another DIY metal detector?
RIX Detector is a Powerful metal detector (Development in progress) that combines awesome technology with a simple design. Hackable and easy to build using inexpensive components, It opens the doors to novices, electronicians and detectorists who want to experiment or try new techniques.
It is built using simple components (logic gates and other passive components) therefore making simple changes like replacing a gate or a crystal results on interesting behaviour (check the documentation about #rixvariants).
How does it word? RIX contains two oscillators (1 Xtal OSC + 1 Ring OSC), when the detector coil passes through a metal, the oscillator changes its frequency making the detection possible.
