An old VS Code Hanging suggests that enabling:

(self: super: { haskell-language-server = pkgs.haskell.lib.appendConfigureFlag super.haskell-language-server "--enable-executable-dynamic"; })

Suggest adding this back to see if it helps performance unless there was a reason it was dropped?
