A package for GNU-Emacs in the spirit of the extensible, customisable, self-documenting, real-time display editor.
Package `inform’ provides links from elisp symbols (quoted functions, variables and fonts) in Gnu-Emacs Info viewer to their help documentation.
On the left hand side is a GNU-Emacs’ info buffer with additional links and right the Help buffer with the content of the respective link.
Package `inform’ is available on the GNU-Emacs packages archive Melpa.
Please add
(add-to-list 'package-archives
'("melpa" . "https://melpa.org/packages/") t)
to your initialisation file. Then type: `M-x list-packages’, find `inform’, mark it with `i’ for installation and install it with `x’.
The linking is enabled by installing the package. (It might be necessary kill an old info buffer, though). If you don’t want this feature any longer you can set the variable `inform-make-xref-flag’ to nil
(setq inform-make-xrefs nil)
in you init file. Or just uninstall the package and restart Emacs.
If you prefer the stable package archive instead of development versions: Exchange above package source with
(add-to-list 'package-archives
'("melpa-stable" . "https://stable.melpa.org/packages/") t)
Download inform.el, put it into load-path
and activate it with
(require 'inform)
in your init file.
