Am I missing something obvious or is this a bug? A simple fix is to manually remove every blank line but the README claims snipMate compatibility so I was wondering about this.

According to my tests, snipMate doesn't expand the last line if empty. I don't know whether this is intended behavior, but to be fully compatible with snipMate, we should remove a blank trailing line like they do.
