Feature Request: Multiline text field

Currently, only a single-line text field is available to choose from.

Have you thought of adding a multi-line text field? This would be a more convenient way to add long text to a note..

Yes, I wanted to add it because I want to be able to easily add snippets of code to my programming notes. I'm not sure if obsidian has a textArea/CM6 constructor for the Setting object or if I will have to use a custom component. Do you have any experience with that?

Unfortunately, not -- just starting to get into the nitty gritty of Obsidian. 😉

Nevertheless, look at TfTHacker's Text Transporter plugin - the quick capture feature: https://github.com/TfTHacker/obsidian42-text-transporter/blob/0c32a4e39fa1fcd0f8ec1b7ff5038c72c155384e/src/ui/quickCapture.ts#L35 -- he is able to create a multi-line modal.
