Company/Team Credential
Forbole is a professional validator for over 25 blockchains and an active contributor in the blockchain space. Forbole has built the reputable open source Big Dipper block explorer, which has been forked over 120 times on GitHub, and received traffic from over 140 countries and regions. The team consists of experienced software developers, infrastructure engineers, seasoned marketers, and creative designers. There are currently 18 full-time employees in the company and we are looking to expand the team in Q3 2021 to over 30 people.
We recently launched Desmos Network, a sovereign blockchain protocol designed to be the backbone for decentralized social networks apps. Desmos Network is a Cosmos-SDK based chain, and it is BC (Inter-blockchains communication) ready.
Project Descrption
Title
Desmos profile for Crypto.org users
Introduction
Desmos' decentralized profile feature
Desmos is a blockchain designed to be the backbone of multiple decentralized social network applications. On top of all Cosmos-SDK features, Desmos has developed a “decentralized user profile” feature. A user can register a Desmos profile where they record their information, such as social media handles, wallet monikers, bio, etc..
The usage of Desmos profile
Desmos is a blockchain designed to be the backbone of multiple decentralized social network applications. On top of all Cosmos-SDK features, Desmos has developed a “decentralized user profile” feature. A user can register a Desmos profile where they record their information, such as social media handles, wallet monikers, bio, etc..
The mechanism of Desmos profile
We are developing a profiles module on Desmos, which will contain a Link object. The Link object will store data representing inter-chain links and cross-chain links, which can be used to verify the addresses a user owns. One address, regardless of which chain, will only be allowed to link to one profile, in order to prevent the double-profile problem.
Our team is developing another ibc/profiles module that can be easily used by other chains. The x/ibc/profiles module will contain IBC packets and methods that other chains can use to send over their request.
For more specific discussion on the Profiles Module, please refer to this PR.
How will the project benefit the Crypto.org Chain and its ecosystem
We want anonymity in the blockchain world, yet there is also increasing demand for identity verification, especially when doing transactions with a large enough quantity of tokens. Desmos profile is a good attempt to solve this dilemma. It can prove the trustworthiness of a profile and prevent identity theft without touching a user’s personal information in the physical world.
The Desmos profile feature can be extremely helpful for validators. If a validator is running nodes on several chains, they would not need to input their information everytime they join a new network, but instead, they could just let the chains retrieve their Desmos profile. It also saves delegators’ trouble to verify their validators information in different networks.
We also see the benefits of Desmos profile for Crypto.com users. $CRO holders can verify a recipient’s or a validator’s address through their Desmos profiles when doing transactions. $CRO holders’ Desmos profiles can also be retried by explorers, wallets, other on-chain applications when needed, which could save their time of inputting similar information on multiple occasions.

Project Status
Desmos is planning to launch mainnet in Q4 2021. Our team will prepare the ibc/profiles module for the Crypto.org team to integrate onto crypto.org chain.
