@messense -- Thanks for the suggestion. It seems to have worked for some of the cross compiling linux build errors, but I'm still seeing all of the windows builds failing. I'm not sure what changed there. I don't see any clear indication of what is going wrong, but it's giving a non-zero return code when calling maturin --help, but without reporting an error.

We switch to use setuptools-rust to bootstrap maturin from sdist in PyO3/maturin#909, @davidhewitt any idea what's going wrong here on Windows?
