Code Dojo is a meetup where people can practice getting better at coding and have a mentor there to help guide them through the process.
There are three roles during the meetup:
- Driver - the person directly typing the code
- Navigator - mentor and primary guide
- Mob Member - the rest of the people following along and offering help
During the writing of the code to complete the challenge the Driver and Navigator will remain focused on the code being worked on, but Mob members can dive deeper into tools that might be useful, so that they might be able to resolve issues that arise.
Note: the use of the word mob in this context comes from the terminology of pair/mob programming where mobbing just means that you have several developers working together on the same task.
