Presented to SIG-Storage on May 13 call. Thanks @erinaboyd @chira001 for hosting us, and @saad-ali from TOC for stepping up to lead the DD review. TiKV maintainers and I are ready to address further comments. |
Thank you for the DD doc. Can someone from SIG Storage please put together a graduation recommendation doc to capture the SIGs recommendation as well. Similar to this. Once that is complete, I'll start a thread for public comment period. |
Yup, will do.

@quinton-hoole @saad-ali @erinaboyd We just provided the support of TiKV operator, which is a Kubernetes Operator that aims to automate the deployment, management, and operational tasks of TiKV clusters (without depending on TiDB). The corresponding part in the proposal and DD doc have been updated. FYI. |
If the SIG Storage graduation recommendation doc is final, please add a link here and we can move to the next step: public comment period. |

Thanks @erinaboyd @quinton-hoole . If this is the final version, shall we proceed to next step as @saad-ali suggested? |
I left some comments on the SIG recommendation doc. But those can be addressed in parallel. Opened comment period: https://lists.cncf.io/g/cncf-toc/message/4847 |
Everything else looks good, but some TOC members have a concern about https://github.com/pingcap/pd being an important TiKV dependency and not part of the TiKV org (part of CNCF). Liu Tang indicated that the PD library could be migrated to the TiKV project. Based on the discussion with the TOC, let's go ahead and move the dependency. Once that is complete, we'll kick off the vote again. |
Thanks @dcalvin! |
Hi @saad-ali, We have transferred the PD ownership to TiKV, see https://github.com/tikv/pd and tikv/pd#2758. The related configuration and updates have also been completed. Shall we proceed with the voting? |
Yes. Thank you for all your hard work on this! I will reply to the voting thread with the update. |

This is the proposal for TiKV graduation from CNCF. Following the criteria and process outlined in #374, it highlights how TiKV project has met criteria as defined by CNCF.
Let us know if you have any comments or feedback. We will put together our version of Due Diligence doc soon for TOC's reference.
