Qz is discarding the activity on the watch at the end. Which watch do you
have?

It's a Fenix 5S. Yesterday it discarded the activity properly. Today it didn't and created an indoor run activity. Maybe it's because I closed the QZ app before finishing the QZ Companion activity? |

Was coming here to ask about the QZ companion app not broadcasting to the QZ app, so may be loosely related. I have never needed to start the app on the QZ companion, just let the app "sit there" and broadcast HR / cadence. The last couple of times I've used the treadmill / QZ app the HR hasn't been broadcast. Should I be starting the QZ companion? And if I do, what is the sequencing to prevent Garmin Connect syncing this as an activity as the OP has suggested, because I too tried this a few days ago and an activity was created / synced by Google. It may be that I'm simply using the wrong workflow. |

you have to start the companion app and so you will see the timer starting in the companion along with HR and cadence. Then you should see the HR value on QZ main app. QZ companion will discard the activity when you press stop on the watch. |

Is that new? Or has that always been the case? Just curious. Normally when I have the treadmill ready to go, but not pressed start, and I have the QZ app started on my watch, but the "go" button not pressed (the button I would press if I was starting a normal outdoor run on my watch) then HR already shows up on the tile on the QZ app. And then when I start running it continues to show and get recorded. I've never had to start the app on my watch before (though I have taken about 2-3 months "off" from running on the treadmill). |

always like that from the very first day, i guess on some watches it has a different behaviour. but if you don't see the hr on the main app, the problem is that you didn't press start on the watch |

But if nothing has changed and I've always seen the HR before without pressing start, then something else must be going on? I will experiment, but I'm also pretty sure that when I have got annoyed if the HR isn't broadcast, "starting" the QZ companion hasn't made any difference. Is there any debug that I could provide from the watch side of things, or from the app, that might be helpful if I experience this again? |

maybe garmin changed something in their OS. Anyway try to press start and check if it works. If not, yes start with a debug log from qz and I will check it |
