Welcome to the director-arkadelphia wiki!

This wiki will tell you everything you need to know to add and update pages to your website.

You may choose to do all of your editings online using the GitHub editor online, it is easy.

You can also clone the repository to your local computer, use your favorite MarkDown word processor, and push changes when finished back to GitHub. It is actually not as hard as it sounds and we can provide onsite training.

Each page you create will be a MarkDown file with frontmatter. Frontmatter is a list of data values like date, author, draft. MarkDown is a simplified way of defining a webpage.

The Hugo program will process your MarkDown file, converting it to HTML5 that has been styled in CSS4 by your UX designer in your theme for your site.

If you wish to do something special, like put a post-it note on the page, you can use shortcode, <postit>Call Me</postit> and then the contents within the shortcode will be styled like a post-it note, except that our UX designer never told the programmer to add post-it notes so you will have do create an issue requesting post-it note as a feature and define it as a 2'x3' yellow paper with drop shadow using handwritten text in blue, the UX designer will add the definition to our SCSS in the theme and the programmer will make certain it is implemented properly and you will have exactly what you want, in a couple of weeks. If you then do another post-it note on a different page, you will see it as soon as the site updates, no additional effort.
