This patch adds small subset of logging functions and removes all calls to perror() and substitutes them with hopefully more informative calls using strerror().
This patch adds support for writing pid file if stud was configured to become a daemon after initialization; init scripts can benefit from this functionality.
Fixes for init.d and debian packaging
Write proxy was damaged in #2445bed0, looks like a find and replace for '\n' (newline). This commit fixes it.
