Brave v0.68 removed bookmark bar from New Tab Page #5760
Comments
Opened this repo to report the same thing, haha |
Closing. Dupe of: #4782 |
@rebron I'm with a @SilencerWeb - I'm a bit confused around this one... the functionality existed, but was removed and is to be re-added at a later date as already is re-enabled in a nightly? Is there a reason it was removed if it was already planned to be re-added? |
@willstocks, I guess they just decided to hide it by default and add an option to show it. I've just checked in Chrome, it always shows there by default and there is no option to disable it. But yeah, it makes no sense that they just deleted it without adding an option to enable it, kinda irresponsible. |
Sorry for the confusion on this one folks - we could have done a better job for sure. This should be fixed when 0.69.x is released, which would be ~Sep 10th. As noted above, it should be fixed on Nightly (along with Beta and Developer versions) |
Description
I have "Show Bookmark Bar" set to "Off" in Brave's settings. Always have. But it has still always shown in the NTP which is incredibly useful. It's the only page I'd really want it! But now, with v0.68, it is gone 😢
Steps to Reproduce
Actual result:
I've checked the "Dashboard" settings toggles and there's no option to have the Bookmarks Bar back on the NTP alone:
Expected result:
Up until v0.68, the bookmarks bar showed on the NTP. It would be nice to have the option back to only show it on this page?
