From a commit message:

I thought setting active=no in the project's index.md would magically keep it out of the Projects menu, but apparently the Projects menu is hardcoded in this file.
Wondering if we want to include past projects (for which we have BBOP web pages) in the menu somehow--maybe just push them to the end of the Projects menu and put "(past)" or something at the end of the name? @cmungall @kltm thoughts welcome.

@kltm noted "It would ideally follow the same patterns that allow for there to be alumni with the change of a variable."

Should we add him to emeritus/alumni? We haven't done that for people in the past other than Suzi. We don't want the People menu to get too long. Issue #21 requests addition of "alumnus" status for past projects. Could also do that for people, but will require a bit of work.
