The behaviour of
inspect.ismethod
is inconsistent between Python 3 and 2. In Python 3, it returnsTrue
only for bound methods (since there's no way to tell whether a function object is an unbound method), while in Python 2 it returnsTrue
for both bound and unbound.This PR adds an
is_bound_method
utility which returnsTrue
iff the object is callable and is a bound method (either instance- or class-).Also added tests for this.
