Frequency Setting from Firmware

Hi, i wanted to know, if we can hardcode frequency directly in firmware. There must be some register values set by driver that we may hardcode.

For example in following, what registers and what values are set when sudo iwconfig wlan0 channel 1 is executed

sudo ifconfig wlan0 down 
sudo iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor 
sudo iwconfig wlan0 channel 1

Hey I agree, this would be nice to have. But to be honest, I never analyzed the firmware in that regard. So that would require some efforts to get done.
