we have a tested (and mix cluster tested) path to 4.10.4 Upgrade Solr to 4.10.4 [JIRA: RIAK-1795] #490
next-up -> https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/solr/Major+Changes+from+Solr+5+to+Solr+6. Same configuration needs that we needed for 5, but we can move right to 6 and attempt to support features there. Be aware Think about future upgrade path [JIRA: RIAK-1589] #185.
