Thanks for applying to CHAOSS Badging. Make sure that you have:

I'm glad to see you back @Wendi-West!!! And glad that the "new" application system is working as it should. It may take a couple of days to get reviewers assigned to all events, but since you have applied some of these before, the inner processes should be fairly quick. Thanks again for applying en masse 🎉 |

Thank you for your help! I'm so glad that it all worked. And, I wasn't sure
that you'd thank me for applying en masse..I was worried you'd see all the
applications coming in and regret fixing that form ;)
Yes, a lot of the events are similar (just North America vs. Europe from
earlier this year). Happy to answer any additional questions or provide
information, should be fairly similar for all events.
KubeCon+CloudNativeCon has a few additional things that the others don't by
way of scholarships, etc.
Thanks!
Wendi

@Wendi-West I don't see information about D&I feedback from attendees and speakers. Is there is a follow-up survey to address this? |
Hi @Wendi-West. With respect to this description: With respect to the registration form, this is the same as my question from a different application. I see questions regarding
I don't see questions about sexual orientation as indicated in the description in this issue. |
Hello @germonprez and @Anita-ihuman CNCF publishes a transparency report following each event that includes attendee and speaker demographic information. These conference transparency reports are published and can be viewed on the CNCF website. [https://www.cncf.io/reports/#conference-transparency-reports] Additionally, we post this on our D+I page of the event website to provide info from the last event: "Please view the transparency report for opt-in statistics from KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2020 – Virtual." The reports are also shared with the Marketing Committee to distribute and posted on Social Media. Prior to the full transparency report being completed, attendee and speaker demographic information is part of an infographic that is also shared with the Sponsors, Marketing Committee and on Social Media. On the Diversity + Inclusion page of the event website we have a section to contact us "If you have ideas on how we can create a more inclusive event, please do not hesitate to let us know. Contact Angela Brown, General Manager of Events, at [email protected]" Additionally, we have a D+I Slack Channel where attendees can provide feedback, and on the registration form if someone selected that they have a disability we have a follow up question asking for details regarding the disability that we should be mindful of as we try to accommodate everyone for this event. We run registration reports for the disability question once a week to make note of any suggestions / comments / feedback. I'm sorry, I think I added the question about sexual orientation in my description and you are correct, that is not part of the registration questions. However, if someone is applying for a Diversity scholarship, that question is on there. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thank you again for your time and thorough review!! |
I'm really glad to see so much discussion here. I will go ahead and generate a preliminary badge. @germonprez @Anita-ihuman please mention here if there is more conversation to be had here. In any case, @Wendi-West, you are always welcome to accept the result or hold for further deliberation. |

@Anita-ihuman We do send post event surveys. They just aren't specifically about inclusion, but rather the event overall. I'm asking for an example and if / when I receive, I can share with you. Additionally, I've mentioned to the team that we should look at the questions and add some about inclusivity. Do you have specific recommendations about what you like to see / have asked? |
Alright, @Wendi-West Thank you for the feedback. Thank you for applying for a D&I Badge. |
Thank you! And again, if you have any recommendations or guidelines for
specific inclusivity questions / requests for feedback that we should
include, we welcome your input.
Thank you,
Wendi

Alright, @Wendi-West <https://github.com/Wendi-West> Thank you for the
feedback.
It's great to know this event requests feedback from the attendee and
speakers.
It would be great to include the questions about inclusivity as well.
I will go ahead and tick those checks then.
Thank you for applying for a D&I Badge.
Success with your event 😃

I apologize, I think I created the badge before the process was done 👎 @Anita-ihuman @germonprez Let me know when you are finished with your reviews 👍 and I will generate another |
I am done with my review. @Nebrethar |
Thanks @Wendi-West. Here are some questions from CHAOSS that could serve as a starting point for asking about inclusive experiences: https://chaoss.community/metric-inclusive-experience-at-event/ |

Thanks @Anita-ihuman and @germonprez for your thoughtful and careful reviews. @Wendi-West I am going to generate a new badge. Let me know whether you accept it 😁 |
