Exchanging DAI to Eth hangs

I attempted to exchange $0.49 DAI to Eth and it has been hanging like this for about 10 minutes:

Ok, got it through. "Sending funds to Exchange" is still displayed for some reason. I had a transaction that had failed previously, which seemed to have been queued behind this transaction. Generally it's very hard to tell what is going on, but I think that's more of a problem with MetaMask and/or the whole concept of having an Eth wallet in a browser extension.

I have experienced the same issue and it is somehow related to metamask. Hard to tell the cause. It'll probably hang there for long time.
IMPORTANT:
When a transaction hangs in the xDai chain, you should not switch the network selector, or Metamask could send the equivalent xDai -> ETH in the main network. xDai is ETH but renamed as xDai in another chain.
