For an (incomplete) list of supported IR devices, please have a look at the hardware compatibility list here
Since the receivers of IR commands are varying very much, it is hard to define a universal range for the FLipMouse. Currently, this page contains some test values to give a coarse overview of the possible ranges.
Device | Range FLipmouse | Range original remote | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|
Yamaha HTR-4065 | 3m, >=4m if directly pointed | >= 4m (limited by the room) | Strong receiver, no direct pointing |
LG 32LN5758 | 3m, if directly pointed | >= 4m (limited by the room) | Always needs direct pointing |
Odroid C1 | >= 4m (limited by the room) | >= 4m (limited by the room) | Strong receiver, no direct pointing |
If you can't improve the range to the wanted distance by changing the FLipMouse' direction, it is possible to move the IR LED outside the case, to decrease the distance to the devices. To do this, unsolder the infrared LED (LED5) and extend the leads with any wire. If you use a flat-cable (like old floppy/IDE cables), it is possible to route the wire nearby the USB connector outside. Following pictures show you how to manage that.
