I have PZEM 004 modules connected to ESP8266 and I have SP111 sockets. I
updated from version 10 to version 13 and noticed the problem.
After reset - turning off the ESP power supply, the EnergyToday
indications are reset to 0.00. Yesterday the power was turned off at 10
p.m. and the readings for the entire day were reset, i.e. EnergyToday
0.00, which was not added to EnergyTotal.
So today I disconnected the power supply from the ESP and, as it says,
the EnergyToday reading showed 0.00

Energy Today is added to Energy Total at midnight
If you cut power before, you'll loose the data
Tasmota is not meant to loose it's power on regular base. Keep it on to get it working as expected

In my case, the power plant often has short 230V outages, i.e. the power outage lasts 1-2 seconds, so I need to provide UPS backup for the Tasmota modules. Yesterday there was a blackout after 10 p.m. and the energy data collected from the entire day was discharged and was not added to the total.

As of today, not in Tasmota. Tasmota just receive the values provided by the PZEM and use them. Some people have referenced an existing software from Peacefair that may be able to reconfigure the device but I have no idea if it can do it, and where to find it. I've not found it on peacefair web site. |

Try connecting the pzem004 to your PC using an FTDI adapter. There is a tool on the pzem manufacturer's website. where you can adjust everything possible such as the measured values or bus addresses. Greetings Basti

Very strange
Commands:
energyyesterday 0
energytotal 0
They work with SP111 configuration - ok
In PZEM 004 configuration - commands do not work - no ok
How to delete yestarday and total energies??

By the way: Both came today with a "Q.C. Passed" green sticker.
Not a problem to remove the solder drops, but you'd better look and not rely on the Q.C. sticker before putting them under power. |

With luck, that "QC" sticker means that it did not fail a brief test, not a careful visual inspection. In case of a surge, those solder drops might disappear quickly, but still.... 😠 I remember finding a loose resistor leg inside a bulb I cracked open for MCU replacement to a Tasmota-compatible module. |
