Reposting Superset community weekly update from Slack channel.
At a high level, we’d like to share that @villebro(PMC and committer) and @srinify (Committer), and I will be focusing the majority of our time on supporting & growing the Superset community. Our specific short-term focus is to improve the experience of contributing to Superset.
We’d love to see a significant increase in first time contributions both code and non-code! If anyone else wants to partner with us on this effort please reach out to us or post in #contributing in Slack or comment in this thread.
To help us understand where we should invest our time & energy, we’d love for everyone here to fill out 🙏 this quick 1 minute survey.
To support this push to encourage more contributors, we’ll be posting this Community Update on a weekly basis. We will tee up the results and share our analysis & next steps in the next community update (next week!).
Here are some areas we think need improvement:
Documentation (auditing state of docs, adding better docs versioning, adding search, consolidating docs, etc)
Better developer experience (monorepo will help, but there’s more to do!)
More frequent contributor onboarding focused Meetups
Faster time to review & help resolve issues in PR’s
Github Issues / PR’s
