Failure in AWX playbook with gather_facts #4278

SUMMARY

I have a task that use gather_facts to get info from one host CentOS. When I use my playbook with this task in AWX I receive this error:

fatal: [192.168.103.105]: FAILED! => {

}

It works fine if I run with ansible-playbook at shell

ENVIRONMENT
  • AWX version: 6.0.0
  • AWX install method: docker
  • Ansible version: 2.8.1
  • Operating System: CENTOS 7.6
  • Web Browser: Opera/Chrome

Looks like you have problems with ssh connection, check credentials and inventory.

Agreed with @sub2zero, this doesn't look like a bug to me.

I understand your perception, but I run this exact playbook at same machine and works fine, but in AWX it fail. I'll try another playbook and tell for you.

I just had the same issue. It was on a VM I had just deployed and my user credentials required a different sudo password than other systems. Once I synced those up it worked.
