Integrating Hive with Home Assistant AND having control via Hive app? #42

@andrew-codechimp - I suspect I know the answer, but wondered if there is any way to have the Hive Thermostat and Remote Control integrated into Home Assistant via Z2M and also still controllable via the Hive App? I need to retain my family's approval when tinkering with the heating (and they find the Hive App easy to use)! |

Unfortunately not, the Hive Hub is a sort of zigbee co-ordinator and you can only pair the receiver to one co-ordinator so it's Z2M or Hub. |

Thanks Andrew - appreciate the response (which is pretty much what I expected) and sorry for the delayed reply. Given this, I'm probably going to stick with the regular Hive integration to avoid over-complicating things as I already have some HA automations set up for boosts etc. that work just fine. Keeping the Hive App working also helps with the wife's approval and she's not 100% convinced by HA! |

The HA app and a nice main dashboard with easy heating controls goes a long way, I leave the scheduling on the actual Hive as that rarely changes and then regardless of HA state the heating comes on in the morning. Quick access to boosts/temp changes is all that's needed for me on HA.
