# AMP Charter

## Section 0: Guiding Principles (optional)

AMP’s vision and mission statements and its design principles are [defined on the AMP website](https://amp.dev/about/mission-and-vision/).

## Section 1: Scope

AMP is an open source web component framework that provides a well lit path for web performance and user experience best practices.

## Section 2: Relationship with OpenJS Foundation CPC.

Technical leadership of the AMP project is delegated to the AMP Technical Steering Committee (TSC) by the OpenJS Cross Project Council (CPC). The TSC is also responsible for deciding how to allocate earmarked funds it might receive through the Foundation.
Amendments to this charter require approval from both the CPC, through its [decision-making process](https://github.com/openjs-foundation/cross-project-council/blob/master/CPC-CHARTER.md#section-9-decision-making), and the TSC, following the [decision-making policy](https://github.com/ampproject/meta/blob/master/GOVERNANCE.md#decision-making-policy) defined in the [AMP governance document](https://github.com/ampproject/meta/blob/master/GOVERNANCE.md).
