Editing existing content #1413
Comments
Did you edit through the authoring tools? Can you log in to your account? If you can log in, please let me know if the AIDS Memorial Quilt timeline is associated with your account. Thank you. |
I can login (username=mrdale) but I don’t see anything that would indicate that I can edit either of A 30 Year History of Aids or AIDS Memorial Quilt (which is actually contained in A 30 Year History of Aids Thanks! DALE MACDONALD

We can associate the timeline with you but given that this was curated content and created without the authoring tools, I'm not sure how this will work. We will look into it and figure it out though. Do you know what you want to update specifically? |
We would like to add some events in the 2012-2015 area and clean up some text and possibly replace some images. DALE MACDONALD

Okay, we'll figure out how best to do this. Will get back to you early next week. |
alterm4nn will reply with instructions on what you need to do if you want to add new content since this content is housed in our system. |
@mrdale1958 Instruction provided by @loriada is well-detailed, except for last paragraph - I would rather change link in "featured" content to your new collection. If you have any new media (images/docs) content that you think should be stored on ChronoZoom servers - please leave me a note, I'll send you info about uploading procedure. |
Everything worked as described (Except one doesn't click "save" in #5 it's Thanks! I will get my content folks working on this. I'm not entirely sure what the criteria is for " think should be stored on Thanks a gazillion! On Thu, Jul 16, 2015 at 4:34 AM, Eugene W. Nourminsky <

@mrdale1958 it's easy - if you have any content that you cannot publish yourself for some reason. For example, if you don't want to use your own onedrive to host images. |
Ok we have been editing and are ready to make the changes public. What do yo need to know to changed the featured content link? Thanks! Dale. Sent from my iPhone. Any inscrutability is attributable to Apple...or me.

@mrdale1958 can you please specify the link you have used? Was it direct link to timeline or shorted one? |
I believe he has a URL shorter that cannot be updated pointing to the “A 30 Year History of AIDS” on the featured content home:

@mrdale1958 I've pasted new items that I spotted into curated canvas (Chronozoomer collection), but there could be some minor changes that I missed. Please check - http://www.chronozoom.com/chronozoomer#/t39e69fbe-6857-42cd-bd77-e12624ced37b/t3220d102-53dd-4c0e-9349-abaa38dfdd66 I cannot remove old timeline and paste new with all content because all id's will change and your link wouldn't work. |
The documentation is pretty vague about how to get edit access to content. Anne Balsamo and I were part of the team that developed the 30-Year History of AIDS and the AIDS Memorial Quilt timelines. We would like to update them before showing them at SIGGRAPH in August but can't figure out who to ask nor how to edit in secret until we are ready to release.
