Retrospective, April 9, 2017

Having just now committed to a weekly retrospective, this first retrospective is happening on a Sunday about three weeks into the project. From now on they will be recorded weekly on Friday.

The initial objective was to complete environment set up and Vision level feature definition in about two weeks. Environment set up has taken longer than expected, principally setting up a component-based AngularJS 1.5 approach with Typescript and associated tools. At this point, the bulk of the JavaScript ecosystem is set up, as are the various Java environment elements.

In general, unfamiliarity with new AngularJS approaches and Typescript has been a stumbling block; to increase efficiency should spend additional time studying and sharpening these skills.

GitHub seems to be a suitable tool for managing the project.

Learned a lot about Cucumber with Serenity; also a time sink but useful.

All the environment set up work has drawn attention away from the vision and feature definition. Should return most focus in the early days of the coming week to defining the project vision.
