Github is confused by the mixed unix/windows newline endings in the CMake file. I protected the MSVC flags with an MSVC check.

A couple of comments:

  1. I don't have write access on this repository, so someone else will have to merge this.
  2. I'm not really sure how active this one is anymore. I've done some work on making the cmake stuff better, but I've made those changes to nextgis's repo: https://github.com/nextgis/gdal-svn.git

@simonsonc yes the nextgis is the forked from this repo and @BishopGIS made some really nice improvements. @mathstuf may be we can sync up later today?

Also this branch https://github.com/nextgis/gdal_svn/tree/rsmd-reader-dev tested on Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10 and Fedora 21 - build fine.
