Description

Alignment Styles no longer parody the frontend in the editor.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

Install and activate Gutenberg 10.7.2
Align Blocks such as the group block from default, wide, or full
Tested in Twenty Twenty-One (which has theme set alignments, and Twenty Nineteen which fallback)

Expected behaviour

For the default, wide, and full styles defined to parody the frontend in the editor.

Actual behaviour

Aligned items visually look to be the default width alignment.

I was going to report this exact same thing.

  • The problem only happens with the plugin (Version 10.7.2). The core version (5.7.2) works fine
  • I was able to reproduce this issue both with Twenty Twenty and Twenty Twenty-One.
  • This is affecting the Columns, Image and Pullquote bocks but NOT the Gallery Block.

With the plugin active (alignment is set to "full" but the block shows as "centered") :

The problem goes away as soon as we deactivate the plugin:

@nosolosw hi! Could this be related to global styles changes?

I believe this is the same issue as #32274 We're preparing a fix for that at #32454

Going to close this one and suggest people follow #32274 instead.
