Overview

The player will enter a portal that leads to the next level. The portal will need to be designed and animated in consideration with the art style and theme of the game.

Design

Portal designs in animated shows or games largely consisted of being circular/oval shaped with spiraling designs. The following was the first version of the portal that was created implementing the oval and spiraling aesthetic. The darker colour palette with the dark blue and black was chosen to fit the darker colour scheme of being in space.

A revision of this design was made with the increased circular markings. This was then animated using GDX texturepacker with the following spritesheet.
