Audio: FOH Mixing with Translation

This set of instructions is for mixing services WITH second-language audio translation. If you're mixing a service that does NOT have second-language audio translation, read this article instead.

  1. Recall the "Translation" scene to restore all settings to their defaults. To do this, press the "Scenes" button to the right of the screen, select it from the list, and press "Recall." This restores all input settings, including the correct routing.

  2. Turn on the amplifiers using the key switch next to the mixer.

  3. Test your inputs. Work with the other team members, especially whoever is in the audio booth.

  4. The White wireless handheld microphone MUST be used for translation, and translation only.

  5. Mix well!

Troubleshooting

If the iLive says that the mixer was not shut down properly, you can safely dismiss this message.

If the iLive says that the connection to another component of the mixer has been lost, restart the surface (Utilities -> Shut Down, then the power button on the back), and also restart the component with the problem using the power button on the back of the unit. The xDR is in the Catacombs IT closet, and the iDR is in the Control Room rack.
