Mining Instructions

Mining on a CPU

Note: Each user's system is unique and have different working environments. The following reasons may explain why your system is not sufficiently mining blocks:

  • System hardware is old and does not have the correct specs for mining

  • System hardware is new, but is too slow for mining

  • Your network is unstable or in located in a rural environment (too far from a correctly sync'd node)

  • Your system is not correctly synchronized with the network

Windows

You can download the binary release here on GitHub.

After downloading the binary, unzip the archive.

Enter the directory of the unzipped archive named bundle-win and click launch.sh.command.

When you first start your node, you will be asked to enter your wallet's password. This password will be used when you send HYC.

Please let your computer synchronize with the network. This may take some time.

After you are synchronized with the network, you will begin mining on your CPU.

MacOS X

You can download the binary release here on GitHub.

After downloading the binary, unzip the archive.

Enter the directory of the unzipped archive named bundle-macos and click launch.sh.command.

When you first start your node, you will be asked to enter your wallet's password. This password will be used when you send HYC.

Please let your computer synchronize with the network. This may take some time.

After you are synchronized with the network, you will begin mining on your CPU.

Linux

You can download the binary release here on GitHub.

After downloading the binary, unzip the archive.

Enter the directory of the unzipped archive named bundle-linux and click launch.sh.command.

When you first start your node, you will be asked to enter your wallet's password. This password will be used when you send HYC.

Please let your computer synchronize with the network. This may take some time.

After you are synchronized with the network, you will begin mining on your CPU.

Mining on a GPU

Please click any of the following links that is relevant to your system. For more information about GPU mining and troubleshooting, please refer to xmrig.

AMD

AMD OpenCL Miners are highly dependent on each user's system. We do not have a stable build guide at this time.

NVIDIA

  • Windows

  • Linux

  • MacOS Nvidia miner is highly dependent on each user's system. We do not have a stable build guide at this time.

Creating a GPU Mining Pool

Prerequisites

  • A node must be set up in the network, by following the above instructions

  • A Hycon miner binary must be built successfully

Creating a pool

  • Enter the build directory of your Hycon miner

  • Edit the config.json file in the directory

  • Under "pools", add the IP address(es) of your nodes
