7.2.0 (New sensor source, LHM support)
Important! If you are using tools for the first time, please read Beginner's guide and AlienFX-GUI readme to configure out it's concept and operation principle.
Important! If you are migrating from version 5.x.x.x, download release 7.0.4.1 first, unpack it and run alienfx-conv
to convert registry configuration. In case you don't do so, you lost your color and effect settings (forever), as well as haptics and ambient settings (until converted).
Changes into this release:
All fan-control apps
:
- Disks (SSD) temperature sensors added to sensor list (if available).
- Open Hardware Monitor support dropped (app not supported anymore). Instead, Libre Hardware monitor (it's OHM fork under development) support added.
All light-control apps
:
- APIv6 (external monitors) command chain optimized, now it only initialized once, not each color change to avoid white lights.
- SDK optimization for speed and size.
AlienFX-GUI
:
- Grid selection changes now apply to light colors immediately.
- Colors refreshed after APIv6 device init to avoid white lights.
- Refresh (including refresh button) now refresh effects as well.
- No more multiply elevation to admin requests if user chancel it (but functions requiring elevation will be disabled until app restart).
- Monitoring effect re-worked:
- Clear info about sensor sources in Settings
- Avoid duplicate sensor data if both BIOS and Fan Control enabled
- Power now changed to correct values (it's not full system, but CPU only)
- Network loading now have real connection bandwidth and show the percent of used. As a side effect, it will not react on light background loading (below 1% of the bandwidth).
- Bug fixed: Pressing "X" button at grid window does not work (now it clean all lights from selected zone).
AlienFX-Mon
:
- Clearing sensor name (set it to blank one) now set it to BIOS default value (like in fan control).
- Clear info about sensor sources.
- Avoid duplicate sensor data if both BIOS and Alienware sensors enabled.
AlienFX-CLI
:
- Bug fixed:
status
command report incorrect device type in some cases.
Known issues:
- APIv8 (external keyboard) still not set -Lock buttons "on" state correctly. It's a bit of mystery, it only can be reset to black in case you select "Devices" tab. Still fighting it.
AlienFX-GUI
can hang or stop with exception after first start, then detection canceled. Under investigation, but can't reproduce it... As a workaround, just remove configuration (but better share it to me for investigation first) and start again.
