About
It's here! After nearly seven months of development, network resets and fatal issues, SummerCash has finally stabilized.
For this reason alone, at version 0.7.0, the SummerCash main network has launched.
It's Been a Wild Ride
Here are some stats related to all that has been done in the last seven months:
Statistic | Value |
---|---|
Lines of Code Written | 32,760 |
Repos Created | 18 |
Change in # of Org Members | +100% |
Bitcoin Price Change | +95.3% |
Ether Price Change | +108.1% |
Market Cap (all) Change | +92.7% |
What All of this Means
As of yet, considering all existing integration, capabilities, and features, one can achieve/use each of the following with SummerCash:
Feature/Capability | Platform |
---|---|
SummerCash Wallet | summer.cash, go-summercash terminal |
Smart Contracts | go-summercash terminal |
Smart Contract Interaction | summer.cash, go-summercash terminal |
DAO Creation | WASM Smart Contract Deployed to SummerCash Mainnet |
P2P Communications | zero-value SummerCash transactions |
CLI Network Explorer | puppet |
Faucet | summer.cash faucet |
Minecraft Server Integration | mc-summercash |
JS, Python, Dart API Wrappers | github |
What Needs to be Done
Although we've built up quite an ecosystem in just seven months, there's still a lot left to do:
- Smart-contract interaction utilities in the summer.cash wallet
- A full-fledged block explorer with a web UI
- A full-node-capable desktop wallet
- A native mobile wallet
- SummerTech curriculum integration (i.e. badges)
- Some sort of formal certificate verification smart contract
- summer.cash wallet governance integration
Why Mainnet is Launching
Despite the fact that the majority of the ecosystem still needs to be developed, all of the utilities to facilitate base-layer usage are in existence. This means that, without altering the protocol layer (i.e. go-summercash), these second-layer solutions can be created.
How You Can Help
Again, despite the fact that SummerCash was quite a massive undertaking, we're still limited in scope to just 4 developers--one developer for the base layer, one for second-layer plugins (i.e. mc-summercash), two for user interfaces, and one for node management.
Keeping in mind all that needs to be created to ensure SummerCash can provide the richest experience possible at SummerTech camps and programs, we'll be funding a bounty program, of sorts, for developers that discover bugs in the go-summercash software. Here are the rewards we'll be offering:
Severity | Reward Range |
---|---|
Additional Feature | 1-5 SMC |
Bug Fix | 5-20 SMC |
Critical Protocol Adjustment | 20-50 SMC |
