I just installed Stellarium 24.4 on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS running on a Raspberry Pi 5 with 8 GB of RAM. I am using the Cinnamon desktop. I can launch the program and move the display around, but the bottom and left menus will not display. Knowing where the bottom menu buttons should be, I can invoke their functions; I just can't see the menu or buttons. As for the left menu, clicking on those buttons does not display any of the dialog windows. However, mousing over where the windows should be, I saw some help text, so it appears the windows exist even if I can't see them. Clicking on an object, Polaris for example, does not display information about the object. I suspect something is missing in my graphic driver configuration, but I don't know how to diagnose it. I did run Stellarium at the command line using the --dump-opengl-details parameter. Hopefully someone can use this to identify the problem and tell me how to correct it.

I only have RasPis 3&4. On RPi4, following the notes in our wiki (have you seen them?) leads to success. Sorry, I cannot give advice for RPi5. |

I fear you have installed version 23.4 by the fact. Did you compile it from source code or just install from some repository? P.S. I guess the solution for RPi4 will work here too (see our wiki) |
