v0.4 JPBB is Complete?
This release finishes the patches needed to use the original JPBB client in English and allows writing in game chat without the need of installing an IME.
I want to give special thanks to Solybum and fuzziqersoftware for the IME patch and notes regarding it respectively, as without them, I wouldn't be able to make the required modifications to make the IME patch work.
Full Changelog: v0.3...v0.4
v0.3 No Hard Hats Required
This release adds full compatibility with the JPBB Ver. 1.25.11 client, and probably others, but untested.
Special Thanks to @deviltti for teaching me how to get it working, even if I was doing a mess in the process :)
Also brings a bugfix that made gethostbyname
return empty and cause a game crash if an address not in the redirect list is called (for the unpacked client EXE)
As an extra, it also allows setting the client to Episode 4 Mode or not. Setting it to Episode 4 will add the Episode 4 subtitle to the Title Screen (and change the copyright year), use a different set of servers to connect to, changeable in psobb.cfg
, and a number of undocumented changes.
This technically makes AzureFlare complete in terms of making it work with an unmodified client. Further developments will focus on code quality and adding support for PC running on non Japanese locales (Changing client language and IME)
Full Changelog: v0.2...v0.3
v0.2: GameGuard Bypass*
This release includes a bypass for GameGuard, made specifically for the original EXE, but currently it only does the bypass if it's unpacked.
Support for the packed EXE will come in a future release.
(*) Unpacked EXE only, tested with the JPBB Ver. 1.25.11 EXE.
Full Changelog: v0.1...v0.2
Initial Release
This is an initial release, more as a proof of concept, but it works.
Only server redirection is included in this release.
To install, extract the zip on the same place as PsoBB.exe and edit psobb.cfg
with your desired server addresses.
