Add scripts for 2.5 vs 2.3 runtime and memory usage experiments to research-experiments repo

Follow up to #9433

We should add the script used for 9433 as well as any other notes or tools to the research-experiments repo.

Definition of Done

• script and documentation is added to the repo such that someone else could use them to replicate the experiments in 9433

In case anyone's wondering: I've assigned this issue to me since I'm the one who needs to document the steps and it's my script :)
